With both can't miss classics (If you haven't read Pride and Prejudice, what are you waiting for?) and brand-new reads (here's looking at you, Isaac Fellman), there's a little something for everyone on our list. If you are a Christian, then you know I mean inspired by God. Listening to the audio books will be my 3rd time going through the whole series. What did you love best about An Echo in the Darkness? and will shine a light to unbelievers that their is true hope in Jesus Christ. it will leave believers feeling that they are woefully falling short of the kind of Christ-like love that lives in Hadassah. this second in the series is powerful, and just as honest and telling as the first. Hadassah, alive and finally healed, though terribly scarred from the lion's attack, has found new purpose in healing others. and Marcus is faced with the love of those who should have hated him, a Roman citizen. so he goes to Jerusalem, in search of this Jesus. mad at this God whom his beloved worshiped, he vows to track God down and make Him explain himself. a year after Marcus believes that Hadassah has been killed by the lions, he is still angry, eaten up by grief and estranged from his sister, Julia, who ordered the murder of her slave, Hadassah. physical, mental and most of all spiritual. and all of the disease that comes with it. abortion, homosexuality, promiscuity, gladiators, divorce, gods of every sort, and a lust for money like no other time in history. that was what ancient Rome was all about. Debauchery, love of self, total indulgence to every desire.

But she doesn’t want to walk out from herself, and she tries to be a better person. Searching for the better and the meaning in her life often she fails, at first in a Place Without a Name, then in Italy and finally in London. An outsider and a fighter in her mid-twenties who is struggling with modern, post student cruelty. “Train to the Edge of the Moon” is a compelling, powerful, original and controversial story about Punk. Because our young lives are indeed complicated. She would party, show the middle finger to people’s prejudice, make you laugh and cry. She would fight against her broken identity, intolerance and Cropdor. She would keep going against the stream with her heavy, tight shoes. What would you do if you became the faded shade of the moon and your dreams were trapped in a high tower in a wasteland? Punk wouldn’t stay in there indulging her inner wild horses.

ISO by Kelli Jae Baeli6/27/2023 By night, she shares her bed as the mood pleases her, but never her heart. By day, she works as a school counselor, helping kids learn to cope with becoming adults. So when an old social acquaintance named Lissa Moon offers her sanctuary, Dove takes it. Dove has no life to go back to, only a one-way voucher to the destination of her choice-a consolation prize from Freya. Her fairy tale romance is served a dose of reality in a Venice hotel, when room service brings her a dish she wasn't expecting. Although, she might need that to keep her head above the waters of a doomed courtship. Dove just hoped it wasn’t the kind of down that had her clinging to her seat cushion as a flotation device. That meant there was really nowhere else to go but down. The best parts of Freya and of the relationship itself had indeed already happened, and it started at the top. There was nowhere to go but up.īut that didn’t turn out to be the case. When British goddess-tycoon Freya Tibitt offers a life of globetrotting, Dove imagines exotic locales enriching her writing, and composing her novels on board a posh jet and in luxury hotel rooms, intertwined with romantic dinners and gondola rides in the Venice waterways. The dream woman with money, power and smoldering good looks. Not all happy endings are the ones we plan.Īuthor Dove Jacobi thought she had found the love of her life. Not so big house architects6/26/2023 Spaciousness just isn't conducive to comfort. "We're using quantity to find home, but home isn't anything to do with bigness. "People are almost desperate for a sense of home," she explains. Susanka emphasizes that she is not advocating a small house, but rather, as she puts it, a not-so-big house. These showplaces, sometimes dubbed trophy houses or McMansions, illustrate what Susanka calls a "Versailles complex - the notion that houses should be designed to impress rather than nurture." Many feature vaulted ceilings, Palladian windows, walls of glass, and separate rooms for single activities - media rooms, exercise rooms, hobby rooms, art studios, yoga rooms. I can't tell you the number of people who say, 'This isn't really me.' " "Our lifestyles have metamorphosed, but houses haven't changed. "People are deeply, deeply unhappy with what society is offering up in housing," Susanka explains. Owners, saddled with impersonal, cavernous spaces, sometimes wonder what went wrong - why they feel so profoundly disaffected from the very place that is supposed to nurture and satisfy: home. Susanka hears more often these days as new homes increase in size. "All we've got is square footage with no soul. "We just built a $500,000 house, but we can't bear to live there," she said. A couple in the audience came up to her, and the wife, her eyes brimming with tears, told a sad story. Minneapolis architect Sarah Susanka had just finished speaking at a local home and garden show, emphasizing that bigger is not always better in housing design.
